Thanks for asking about AMSOIL two-cycle oil.
I started using AMSOIL two-cycle oil in the late 70’s in my motocross bike. I liked the idea of mixing the fuel 100/1 because my thought was “the less oil that I needed to dilute my gas with the more power I could produce” making me more competitive. Riding older motorcycles I was looking for any edge I could find. The added bonus that I didn’t realize until later, was that AMSOIL burns at such a high temperature, the gas burns off and leaves the oil there to lubricate. Once I realized these things, I started using it in my weed eater, chain saw and any other two-cycle engine I have owned since.

Dear Mr. Danielson,
Last week I was driving out in the hills east of Hemet California. I saw smoke up the road and when I came around the corner a pick up truck with a horse trailer was on fire. There were several people around throwing dirt on the fire which had spread to dry weeds. I gave them my fire extinguishers and between those and the dirt the fire was mostly put out. The driver had gotten out and only had a few burns on his hands. Fortunately his family had been in another vehicle.
I’m writing because I read your article on motor homes and keeping them from overheating dangers. I want my family to be safe! Thanks to you I’ll be using AMSOIL.

I first heard of AMSOIL products about 30 years ago. I was racing a motorcycle in local events and trail riding. My motorcycle was a Hodaka 100, powered by a 2-cycle engine. I started out using oil requiring a 32 to 1 mix. It was not a good idea to ride anywhere without at least 2 sparkplugs as spares. I sometimes had to change sparkplugs several times in one day! After I started using AMSOIL 100 to 1 mix 2 cycle oil, I rarely had to change sparkplugs! There were many times the spark plugs would last several months. I found another benefit was better performance. I was told later it was because when oil is mixed with gasoline it degrades the octane rating. The much smaller amount required with AMSOIL made the fuel more powerful. My bike revved better and had more power. My bike was 100 CC’s and I was competing with 125 CC bikes. The performance increase was quite noticeable and I didn’t get passed while changing spark plugs!
The gentleman I had gotten my AMSOIL from back then was doing AMSOIL as his only work. He had developed his AMSOIL business to the point that he had retired from active sales for about 20 years. We reconnected in 2001 and I have been using the products in all my vehicles and tractor since. He told me he had been using the products for the entire 30 years and he felt they were far better than what AMSOIL claimed.
My family has been using AMSOIL in the fleet of vehicles they operate since 1999. The family fleet consists of 42 vehicles including medium and heavy duty diesel trucks. My brothers who run the fleet have been very happy with the AMSOIL products they have used. We have only one fulltime mechanic to keep all of the equipment serviced and maintained. The extended drain intervals cut costs and allow our mechanic to do other maintenance jobs beside vehicles.
